The yearly release of the pre-constructed standard decks has been going on for a long time. However in the last couple of years things have changed. For the most part the yearly standard decks were released alongside the Core set for that year and in most cases the face card for the deck was a Planeswalker. Magic the Gathering do not appear to be making new Core sets, these have been replaced with another Standard set on a specific plane. This means the usual Core set deck is no more. Magic the Gathering have announced the release date for the new set Streets of New Capenna. The full release for this set is 29th April 2022. But there are lots more things happening on the lead up to this and we will cover it now. We were a little late to the party on this one. These announcements were made on Monday 25th January and as of the time of writing all the bans and restricted updates are already in effect. The first place we will start with the banned cards is in Standard. There have been 3 cards banned in standard and 2 of them are from Kaldheim. Wizards of the Coast, owners of Magic the Gathering posted on their website this week stating that there is going to be a delay in the release of the upcoming Unfinity set.  The original release for Unfinity was 1st April 2022, the same day as the new Challenger Decks. However due to ongoing supply chain issues and challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic there has been a delay on the 4th instalment of the 'Un-' series. As we all know it is that time of year again when we all prepare for Standard Rotation in Magic the Gathering. We are only a few weeks away from the launch of the latest set to be released and that means loosing some of the older sets from Standard play.
